On Saturday, the New York Immigration Coalition, along with the Election Protection Coalition, Common Cause/NY, and numerous other groups sent Governor Cuomo a letter (read it here) asking him to take emergency action to address the problems Hurricane Sandy has created for voters on Election Day.

The groups call on the Governor to immediately issue an executive order allowing displaced New Yorkers who are unable to get to their assigned polling place to be permitted to cast an affidavit ballot at any polling place within New York State.

Please call Governor Cuomo TODAY and ask him to let displaced voters cast affidavit ballots anywhere in the state: 518-474-8390.

Help spread the Word!

Forward this email to your family, friends and colleagues.

Post www.CommonCause.org/NY/Sandy on Facebook and share it on Twitter.

Tweet at the Governor using his handle @NYGovCuomo and don't forget to post on Governor Cuomo's Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/GovernorAndrewCuomo.

The right to vote is fundamental and must be protected, especially during this state of emergency.

Thank you for your continued commitment!

Chung-Wha Hong,
Executive Director, New York Immigration Coalition
