Wow. We are truly humbled by the outpouring of support for immigrants and refugees. These last few days have been a rollercoaster, with the administration stooping to unimaginable lows. But in the face of adversity, over 30,000 New Yorkers did us proud by dropping all their weekend plans to show up in full force to defend and protect immigrants and refugees. Thank you for standing up for what's right.

We call on you now to help us keep up the momentum. Every action we put together takes people power, time, resources, and energy. Help us sustain our work by becoming a monthly donor today.

The NYIC, with our partners and allies, have held five actions in five days - we organized a gathering of thousands when President Trump announced his inhumane and misguided executive orders; we held a press conference to highlight the voices of affected refugees and immigrants; we hosted an interfaith action and Jummah prayer; in a matter of hours on Saturday, we mobilized thousands to protest at JFK International Airport, where dozens of people were being detained; and finally, on Sunday, we organized a 30,000-strong march to protest the anti-immigrant, Islamophobic executive orders. Simultaneously, the NYIC has led a rotating team of lawyers working to help immigrants caught in the crosshairs of the travel ban.

And we are starting to win - our actions sparked similar protests across the country, a New York federal court issued a temporary stay halting President Trump's executive order, and the White House began rolling back their ban

We won't stop until we have a complete reversal of these executive orders and restore dignity and justice to our immigrant and refugee communities - and to do that we need your donations to keep mobilizing, rallying, and fighting for what's right in response to these continued anti-immigrant policies.

Stay tuned for more ways that you can help in the coming days!

A huge thank you to our partners who helped to make this happen this week - especially Make the Road New York, and CAIR-NY, the Arab American Association of New YorkMPower ChangeDesis Rising Up and MovingAfrican Communities Together, and more.

Finally, thank you for being you - and keep it up!

Sincerely,

Steven Choi
