Volunteers Needed for Poll Monitoring
After the recent Primary Election there were a number of complaints made by non-English speaking voters who were denied access to translators and translated materials at the polls. In response to the violation of voter rights, the NYIC will be organizing a poll monitoring contingent to go out and speak with voters during the General Election.
We are asking for volunteers to commit to participating in the Poll Monitoring project we are launching. We are looking for volunteers to help ensure that Immigrant voters fun have the resources and tools to be civically engaged!
If you are interested in participating, please take a moment to fill out this VERY short form. Our partner NALEO, will be holding a 2 hour training on Sunday, November 2, 2014 to prepare volunteers and NYIC staff to properly monitor voting poll sites.
