I Learn America film screening 11/17/13

Sunday, November 17, 2013

Please join us and a host of strong allies as we celebrate the New York premiere of the documentary I LEARN AMERICA, directed by Jean-Michel Dissard and Gitte Peng at DOC NYC. The film follows five recently arrived students – with various legal statuses – over a personally tumultuous year in a New York public high school dedicated to new Americans.

The NYIC is a proud co-sponsor of this premiere, which will take place at 2pm on Sunday, November 17th at the SVA Theatre (333 West 23rd Street) in Chelsea. Before the screening, please join us for a community gathering and brunch at 11:30am nearby at the Center for Social Innovation (601 West 26th Street, Suite 325). The event is free and open to the public; please RSVP at ilearnamerica@gmail.com or via Event Brite.
