Position: Media Intern

Job Description:
This is a great opportunity for a college or graduate student to learn how a nonprofit advocacy group uses media and communications. Working under the direction of the NYIC’s communications associate, the media intern will track and compile media coverage of the organization; maintain the organization’s website by uploading new content created by staff; maintain a database of media contacts; research news articles; provide logistical and organizational support at rallies, news conferences, and other media events; and be willing to work on special projects as needed. Experience in video production and/or graphic design is a plus (but not required).

Qualifications:
Seeking a college or graduate student who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and conscientious. Excellent writing and communication skills required. Must work well with others as part of a team. Demonstrated interest in immigrant rights and/or social justice a big plus.

Unpaid Internship: Minimum two days a week or 14- hour equivalence (College credit available upon request)
