DREAM Center: Information on Deferred Action for DREAMers

 On June 15^th, 2012 the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a new policy that will offer relief from deportation to young immigrants who were brought to the United States as children and who meet other specific requirements. Immigrants who qualify will also be eligible to apply for work permits. The policy has the potential to lift the fear of deportation for an estimated 800,000 young people. 

El 15 de Junio del 2012, el Departamento de Seguridad Nacional (DHS) de los Estados Unidos anuncio una nueva política que ofrecerá alivio de deportación a jóvenes inmigrantes que fueron traídos a los Estados Unidos cuando eran niños y que cumplen con otros requisitos específicos. Los jóvenes inmigrantes que reúnan los requisitos también serán elegibles para solicitar un permiso de trabajo.  Este programa tiene el potencial de aliviar alrededor de 800,000 jóvenes.

The New York Immigration Coalition is compiling the most up-to-date information on the recent policy change and hosting a series of informational workshops open to the public.  The application period for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) opened on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. The USCIS has uploaded to its website the forms to submit a request for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. For more information and to see the forms, visit www.uscis.gov/childhoodarrivals.

El periodo de solicitud para la Acción Diferida para llegadas infancia (DACA) comenzó el Miércoles, 15 de agosto 2012. El USCIS ha cargado en su página web los formularios para presentar una petición de acción diferida para los jóvenes llegados en su Infancia.
