There's big news stirring in the immigrant rights movement today. The New York Times today reported that the Justice Department's report following a three-year investigation of Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona, found that the sheriff's office has "a pervasive culture of discriminatory bias against Latinos."

On the steps of City Hall today, dozens of young people, community leaders, and elected officials gathered to demand greater access to higher education for youth, regardless of status. Currently, undocumented youth who have been raised here have no access to financial aid, either at the federal or state level, making it next to impossible for some of the best and brightest of New York’s young people to go to college.
