Request for Proposals - Student Voter Registration Day

The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) is pleased to announce this request for proposals (RFP) for community-based organizations to participate in Student Voter Registration Day (SVRD) 2017 and conduct the SVRD non-partisan civic engagement curriculum in New York City high schools. SVRD is a public-private partnership, with generous support from the New York City Council, Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, New York City Campaign Finance Board (NYCCFB), NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), and New York City Department of Education to register youth voters, build civic awareness, and provide avenues for young people to participate in democracy without regard to immigration status. The program will be held on March 17, 2017. Thanks to leadership on the part of the City Council Speaker's office, SVRD 2017 will be held in 110 high schools across NYC, to build on the highly successful 2016 SVRD which resulted in registering over 8,000 new youth voters and educating over 11,000 students on the importance of civic engagement.

Organizations selected to participate in SVRD will be funded through this RFP with a subcontract of $1,500 for each school served. SVRD partner organizations receive reimbursement for their services through generous appropriations made by the City Council and Speaker Mark-Viverito's office. Compliance and contracting are managed by DYCD, and partner organizations will need to meet subcontract reporting requirements to receive full payment. 501(c)(3) organizations in New York City are eligible to apply.
