The NYIC, the Fund for Public Advocacy & Jose Antonio Vargas team up to Support DreamersTuesday, August 30, 2011
In partnership with the Fund for Public Advocacy, the 501(c)(3) of the Public Advocate's office, the NYIC will be starting a new initiative called the Dream Fellowship program. This program will provide a group of exceptional Dreamers with scholarships and internships at organizations that educate and empower immigrant families across New York City.
To fundraise for this program, the Fund for Public Advocacy will be holding a screening of Entre Nos, a film about the struggles of an undocumented immigrant mother trying to provide for her children. As part of the film, there will be a discussion with Jose Antonio Vargas, the Pulitzer prize winning journalist who is also a Dreamer.
